dc.description.abstractO objectivo deste artigo era examinar o efeito do abandono escolar precoce sobre diversas formas de comportamento anti-social numa amostra de adolescentes portugueses. Os dados eram provenientes de um estudo longitudinal em curso há vários anos na Universidade de Coimbra. Os indivíduos que abandonaram a escola sem concluir o 9º ano ou antes dos 16 anos (desistentes) foram comparados com os que continuaram a estudar (persistentes), em várias medidas de comportamento anti-social. Os resultados dessas análises revelaram que os adolescentes que abandonaram precocemente a escola apresentavam mais formas de inadaptação, incluindo comportamentos e atitudes anti-sociais, do que os seus colegas na fase intermédia e na fase final da adolescência. Estes resultados são discutidos à luz das conclusões de trabalhos anteriores.por
dc.description.abstractCette étude vise à examiner l’effet de l’abandon scolaire précoce sur plusieurs formes de comportements antisociaux d’un échantillon représentatif d’adolescents portugais. Les données proviennent d’une étude longitudinale en cours depuis plusieurs années à Coimbra. Les adolescents qui ont quitté l’école sans terminer la neuvième année ou avant l’âge de 16 ans (décrocheurs) ont été comparés à travers plusieurs mesures d’évaluation avec ceux qui ont continué à aller à l’école (non-décrocheurs). L’analyse statistique de ces données a révélé que l’abandon scolaire précoce paraît être associé à diverses formes d’inadaptation, y compris des comportements et des attitudes antisociaux, qui se manifestent entre le milieu et la fin de l’adolescence. dc.description.abstractThis paper aimed at examining the effect of early school drop out in several forms of antisocial behaviour in a large sample of Portuguese adolescents. The data came from a longitudinal study ongoing for several years in Coimbra. Adolescents who left school without finishing the 9th grade or before the age of 16 (desisters) were compared with their peers who continued at school (persisters) in several measures. The statistical analysis of these data revealed that early school dropout appeared associated with various forms of maladjustment, including antisocial behaviour and attitudes during middle and late adolescence.eng
