Buchanan e o ambiente coimbrão no século XVI

Abstract

After briefly describing the moral and literary figure of the famous Scottish humanist, the author analyzes the reflexes of Portuguese life in general and specially of his stay in Coimbra, in Buchanan’s work. He devotes his attention to Buchanan’s relations with such Coimbra people as his colleagues in the Colégio das Artes and some women whose names, real or imaginary, come up in his verse.
