A visão da Igreja Católica e a constituição da Europa na Época Contemporânea

Abstract

Os acontecimentos que ocorreram na Europa após a Segunda Guerra Mundial impulsionaram a tomada de posição dos pontífices romanos de Pio XII a João Paulo II, no contexto da reorganização europeia e internacional. Analisa-se assim, por um lado, a evolução do discurso e da dinâmica goepolítica vaticana e, por outro lado, a acção de organismos episcopais que se preocupam também com a reflexão sobre o processo de reconstrução da Europa.

The post-second World War events, which occurred in Europe, lead the Roman Popes, from Pius XII to John Paul II, to taking a stand in the context of the European and the World reorganisation. Hence, we analyse, on the one hand, the development in the Vatican's discourse and geopolitical dynamics and, on the other, the performance of the Episcopal bodies, they too concerned with the European reconstruction process.
