This paper analyzes the civil military coup of 1964 in Brazil set off by a broad coalition of conservative forces that overthrew President João Goulart and gave a dictatorship that lasted 21 years. The analysis strikes up with the situation of the Cold War, associating internal political issues, society and Brazilian economy with the foreign policy of the United States. Discusses the North American support to Brazilian dictatorship and the organization of an ideological body based on the principles of Cold War what justifies the rupture with the incipient Brazilian democratic process.eng
