Abstract

Quem faz radicar a moda do século na idade da revolução justifica a compartimentação do tempo com um argumento vinculado à linguagem temporal: a necessidade do novo. Esta auto-demarcação do outro e do diferente vem configurar a experiência deixada por gerações, para que, evidenciando um desejo de transformação do legado, o século surja como face cronológica visível da revolução. A sua passagem representa, pois, a intersecção do campo de experiência com o horizonte da espera. Mesmo a experiência herdada é reservatório passível de várias actualizações que potenciam uma comum filigrana (Ortega y Gasset). E esta, sendo marco de identidades e de antinomias, engendra o tempo histórico através de uma ambígua dialéctica entre tradição e ruptura.
