As a consequence of his attitude as a researcher, in the relevant scope of the historiography episteme, which uses a style of the dialogic thinking, cultural studies would only make sense in a hermeneutic background when articulated with the history of philosophy, not in the protohistoric phase (Brucker, Degerando), but that of the critic pendulum of Zeller, Kuno Fischer, Fouillée, Windelband, Hõffding, Brunschvicg, Bréhier, focused, following the leads of Hegel (and of Ritter), as an authentic philosophical problem, on the historiation who aims to be philosophical, placing in historicity "the categorical condition of thinking". Theoretical debates with methodological positivism and impressionist empiricism, without losing the rigor and the positivity of knowledges, and the structure of an historiography episteme are the foundations of the most solid historiography of culture and of ideas that, among us, was best materialized in the first half of the century.eng
